New Song Just For You - "Maybe I Don't Know"

Yesterday after rehearsals for our "Songs Of The '60s Livestream" I (Benjamin) stayed at the piano while Mia put Fox down for a nap. A new song, that literally felt like it was being downloaded from the ethers started pouring out. Before we knew it, 3 hours had passed and we were sitting with a brand new fully formed song called Maybe I Don't Know. It was a beautiful and somewhat unexpected experience as we weren't planning on writing a song that day. Earlier that morning Mia and I had had a very deep conversation about our lives, ambitions, joys, and fears. Part of that conversation spilled into the song and wove together beautifully with other themes that have been on our hearts as of late. This morning we decided to do a raw, live off the floor, “warts and all” recording of the song. We recorded this track in our studio with one microphone in the middle of the room. I was seated with my guitar while Mia stood behind me holding Fox (you can hear him cooing and grunting here and there throughout the track ☺️). It’s a window into what a song sounds like in our home right after it has been written, before production gives the song a new life. And we did this as a gift for our favourite people in the world, YOU!
