The People Part 2
As promised a couple emails ago we are continuing our flashback photo series of our time aboard cruise ships with you all.
The hospitality aboard Crystal Cruises was definitely next level. While she had some challenges in her first few seasons, being a new type of ship to Crystal, the crew had amazing cameraderie!
Love for the People
In the first photo we have Rodion & Alex. Two members of the bar team who always made us feel special. From creating us custom cocktails, appreciating our music, and late night & shore leave conversations about love & life these two are gems!
In the second photo we have more bar staff. Raynen, Olesia, Erica. Raynen, young and energetic, generous and fun, always ready to sing along. Olesia, fresh, chatty, complimentary and full of life. Erica, creative, loving, and always ready to sing (and pour) Tennessee Whiskey!
This photo was taken in one of the hallways aboard Crystal just before this group went caroling door to door for the guests who had unfortunately been quarantined to their rooms because of positive COVID tests mid cruise! What an adventure the Christmas cruise was!! Beside Mia, we have Hotel Director Sonja - experienced, stern, but kind and understanding. Next to her, two members of the housekeeping team. First, Irina, executive housekeeper, and essentially crew officer too! Irina is kind, discerning, hard working and helpful. She supported us through many tough days and taught us many things for which we weren’t trained! Dejna, assistant executive housekeeper, sweet and helpful and always ready to help Mia practice her Balkan language skills. Last but not least, and mentioned before, Colin - piano bar entertainer extraordinaire. Our Christmas shows would not have happened were it not for his good work!
Our dear Alex! One of the housekeepers who we connected with when she found out Mia is part Serbian and can (kind of) converse in her mother’s tongue. We will always remember our chats about life, love, work and everything in between - we will visit, we promise!
Deo, Deo, Deo! Another member of the housekeeping team. Hard-working, kind and super talented. We did a crew talent show near the end of our last contract and he did a fabulous job singing, “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and “The Lazy Song”
Kiki was a member of the reception team aboard Crystal Endeavor! We’re pretty sure the reason we became friends was because Kiki was curious about what Benjamin carried in his over the shoulder bag. It became a running joke, and about a week before we all disembarked to go home, Benjamin finally showed her! To let her keep her special status we’re not going to tell you what was in it!
Captain Jan was the first captain we encountered on Endeavor. He was onboard through the time the ship was docked in Germany and being finished. Sadly, we never got to sail with Captain Jan, but one thing we did get to do was play a crew show with him! This man plays a mean bass! We have a video of it somewhere but can’t find it at the moment. Whenever we do dig it up, we’ll definitely share it.
Captain Niklas - a gentle and sturdy leader, a kind soul. Happy to hear the concerns of his crew - showed respect to all. Supportive and steadfast - definitely the kind of person you want commanding a ship.
Of course this list could go on forever because we met so many incredible people during our travels. So, there is definitely going to a Part 3 coming soon. We’re gathering more photos and will send it out in a couple weeks.

The arrangement will be simple - guitar, piano, two voices, and foot percussion. All performed in our signature style. Audio files will be delivered in high quality 32Bit/48K WAV format via WeTransfer. Studio Singles are $450.00 CAD.
